Brief Profile
Dr. Madan Singh Yadava, currently Dean College of Hill Agriculture, Chirbatiya, Rudraprayag camp at Ranichauri Tehri Garhwal, has 39 years experience of teaching, research, and extension in the field of crop management, integrated farming systems, crop physiology, agro-forestry, etc. He served as Dean, College of Agriculture, Dean of Students Welfare, Chairman of the Department of Agronomy, and faculty of the department of Agronomy at Birsa Agriculture University.
Dr. Yadava has significantly contributed towards the development of technologies in the field of rain-fed agriculture, especially in distressful dryland conditions, and is well adoptable to farmers (small and marginal groups). He put forward three models of integrated farming systems to be popularized by extension machines of Birsa Agricultural University (Ranchi) and other state governments, including Jharkhand. He has guided 7 PG students and 4 Ph.D. scholars and been on the advisory committee of more than 15 PG/Ph.D.
Dr. Yadava has to his credit about 26 research papers published in peer-reviewed research journals, 3 invited papers in international journals, 17 papers in conferences, symposiums, and seminars, 20 papers as extended summaries/abstracts, 09 books/book chapters published on different subjects, and 10 in magazines.

The College of Hill Agriculture (CoHA) is the third constituent college of VCSG Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry which is spread in an area of 8.09 hectare at an altitudinal range of 1900-2300 m above mean sea level. The college is about 40 km away from Rudraprayag, 180 km from Rishikesh and 188 km from Dehradun. The geographical and climatic conditions of the region are considered to be suitable for cultivation of temperate fruit crops (walnut, apricot and chestnut), potato, medicinal & aromatic plants, etc. Presently the college at Chirbatiya is under construction, so, the classes of students registered in B.Sc. Agriculture (Honours) degree programmee are being held at the College of Forestry, Ranichauri, Tehri Garhwal. Apart from teaching the college is also involved in research and extension activities.
